This coating helps reduce friction, improving performance, and will also help quiet the piston in the cylinder bore. This coating is permanently applied, and is not a break in coating, it is on the piston for the life of the part.

Viton is designed to meet the demands of a variety of harsh sealing environments, load conditions, and surface finishes. The center or shim layer is uncoated stainless steel, which can be varied to accommodate multiple thickness requirements.
